Riley stood nearby, watching as Mark opened the envelope. Mark’s face paled and he sat down heavily. Riley cautiously approached him and wrapped his arms around his shoulders.
The test read “HIV Antibody Test: Positive”
Mark’s stomach dropped. He almost didn’t notice the arms wrapped around his shoulders.
“Riley,” He gasped hoarsely.
Riley rocked Mark gently. “Shh… I’m sorry. I’m sorry.”
Mark closed his eyes. “I’m going to die,” He whispered.
“I’m sorry,” Riley said. That’s all he could make himself say. “I’m sorry.”
Mark leaned back against him. He felt weak, helpless. Trapped. One mistake and he’d lost everything.
“Fuck!” Mark finally said.
